Abigail Johnston is a true survivor. She is a wife and mother of 2 precious boys. Abigail spent over fifteen years participating in various capacities within the foster care and Dependency System along with more than ten years of law practice focused within the Domestic Relations area.
Abigail closed her law firm after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer but she continues to be an advocate of those in need. Abigail's passion is her family, her faith, and spreading the word about Metastatic Breast Cancer. She encourages everyone to support organizations like www.metavivor.org who give 100% of funds to research for stage 4 metastaic breast cancer.
"Metastatic breast cancer is breast cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other organs in the body (most often the bones, lungs, liver or brain). ... More commonly, metastatic breast cancer arises months or years after a person has completed treatment for early or locally advanced (stage I, II or III) breast cancer.
As hard as it may be to hear, metastatic breast cancer cannot be cured. Unlike breast cancer that remains in the breast or nearby lymph nodes, you cannot get rid of all the cancer that has spread to other organs.
However, this doesn’t mean metastatic breast cancer can’t be treated." from Nationalbreastcancer.org
